WINTER REFRESHER -2023

Outward Round Romania owns the Erasmus+ Accreditation in the field of Youth since 2020. We created an action plan for the period 2021-2027 for the following target groups: disadvantaged and mainstream young persons, youth workers and youth NGOs.

During the 7 years we are going to:

  • create a strong local and international network of youth NGOs in order to share best practices and working methods.
  • develop the soft and hard skills of the youth workers, enlarge their toolkits and theoretical/practical knowledge about working with groups using non-formal methods
  • develop the key competences, raise the awareness of the young persons about environmental sustainability and contribute to their inclusion

During the second year we implemented the following Mobilities in order to contribute to the set objectives:

  2. White Pathfinder: 2023.02.7-16.
  3. Green Food Print: 2023.03.19-30.
  4. Trick and Tips in youth work- Experience Sharing Conference: 2023.06.18-22.
  5. Diversity and Inclusion- Youth Exchange: 2023.07.1-12.
  6. Winter Refresher Extra: 2024.03.04-15.
  7. Reconnection with Nature: 2024.03.11-22.

All the Mobilities are co-financed by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union

Our main goal: To strengthen the hard and soft skills of youth workers, trainers, volunteers in order to be able to implement programs for youth in nature in an efficient and safe way even during wintertimes. Furthermore, that those who already do or would like to use nature as a classroom would gain confidence also for winter season and could succesfully implement the tools and methods of outdoor education together with the conditions and opportunities that different seasons offer.

The elements of the program: knowing each other activities, team building activities, 3 days long winter expedition in Gurghiului Mountains, low and high ropes activities, risk assessment& management, safety issues, designing and executing own scenarios and action plans for the future

Results:

  • technically and professionally up-to-date, skilled youth workers from different EU countries ready to use outdoor pedagogy even in wintertimes
  • new inspiration and increased motivation to organize expedition based programs for youngsters during winter
  • deeper knowledge about the physical and emotional safety of participants during outdoor programs
  • personal experience and practice in designing and holding workshops and programs using experiential learning methods
  • enlarged professional networking
