Hard Skill Training of Trainers-2022

Outward Round Romania owns the Erasmus+ Accreditation in the field of Youth since 2020. We created an action plan for the period 2021-2027 for the following target groups: disadvantaged and mainstream young persons, youth workers and youth NGOs.

During the 7 years we are going to:

  • create a strong local and international network of youth NGOs in order to share best practices and working methods.
  • develop the soft and hard skills of the youth workers, enlarge their toolkits and theoretical/practical knowledge about working with groups using non-formal methods
  • develop the key competences, raise the awareness of the young persons about environmental sustainability and contribute to their inclusion

During the first year we implemented the following Mobilities in order to contribute to the set objectives:

  3. Hard Skills Training of Trainers: 02-13.08.2022
  4. Life Skills Development Youth Exchange: 16-27.08.2022
  5. Soft Skills Training of Trainers: 10-21.01.2023

All the Mobilities are co-financed by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union

Location: Sovata -Outward Bound Romania Youth Center, Gurghiului Mountains, Bezid Lake

Participants: 25 youth workers

Our main goal:

  • to raise the professional satisfaction and well-being of the youth workers by maintaining their resilience, by developing their theoretical knowledge and practical skills about the know-how of expeditionary learning method and climbing activities
  • to strengthen the hard skills of youth workers, trainers, volunteers in order to be able to implement in an efficient and safe way longer programs (7 to 10 days long) in nature for their specific youth groups. (using places and tracks in nature, where they can link adventure to a sustainable learning experience)

The elements of the program: knowing each other activities, team building activities, 3 days long expedition in Gurghiului Mountains, canoeing on Bezid Lake, climbing activities, low ropes activities, risk assessment& management, safety issues, action plans for the future

Results:

  • technically and professionally up-to-date, skilled youth workers from different EU countries
  • new inspiration and increased motivation to organize expedition based programs for youngsters with fewer opportunities or special needs
  • deeper knowledge about the physical and emotional safety of participants during outdoor programs
  • enlarged professional networking
