RECONNECTION WITH NATURE YE

Outward Round Romania owns the Erasmus+ Accreditation in the field of Youth since 2020. We created an action plan for the period 2021-2027 for the following target groups: disadvantaged and mainstream young persons, youth workers and youth NGOs.

During the 7 years we are going to:

  • create a strong local and international network of youth NGOs in order to share best practices and working methods.
  • develop the soft and hard skills of the youth workers, enlarge their toolkits and theoretical/practical knowledge about working with groups using non-formal methods
  • develop the key competences, raise the awareness of the young persons about environmental sustainability and contribute to their inclusion

During the second year we implemented the following Mobilities in order to contribute to the set objectives:

  1. Winter Refresher: 2023.01.24-02.04.
  2. White Pathfinder: 2023.02.7-16.
  3. Green Footprint: 2023.03.19-30.
  4. Trick and Tips in youth work- Experience Sharing Conference: 2023.06.18-22.
  5. Diversity and Inclusion- Youth Exchange: 2023.07.1-12.
  6. Winter Refresher Extra: 04-15.03.2024
  7. Reconnection with Nature: 11-22.03.2024

All the Mobilities are co-financed by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union

Youth Exchange period: 12-21. 03. 2024.

Location: Sovata -Outward Bound Romania Youth Center, Gurghiului Mountains and Bezid Lake.

Participants: 23 young participants and 5 group leaders

Participating countries: France, Greece, Hungary, Spain, Romania.

About the project:

  Reconnection with nature is a 10-day-long youth exchange where participants learn about nature more effectively and deal with environmental issues.

Among the objectives of this project are:

– to increase awareness about environmental issues.

–  to increase practical knowledge of nature.

– Combine sport and non-formal learning in nature.

– Increase problem-solving skills.

– Challenge young people to go out of their comfort zone.

– To experience different natural environments: forest, mountain

Our main goal:

 The project focuses on specific aims :

  • learn how to be more in harmony with nature
  • connect with like-minded young people from Europe
  • enjoy being outdoors and “learning by doing”
  • deepen knowledge about environmental awareness
  • a deeper connection with nature and the environment around you
  • learn about a more sustainable lifestyle
  • return home with useful tools for making positive changes in your surroundings
  • challenge yourself and step out of your comfort zone

Specific objectives of the project are:

The elements of the program:

 Icebreakers, energizers, team building & problem solving, ropes course elements, preparation activities for the expedition, 3-day expedition, cultural evenings, debriefing sessions, and closing activities.
