Green Footprint
Outward Round Romania owns the Erasmus+ Accreditation in the field of Youth since 2020. We created an action plan for the period 2021-2027 for the following target groups: disadvantaged and mainstream young persons, youth workers and youth NGOs.
During the 7 years we are going to:
- create a strong local and international network of youth NGOs in order to share best practices and working methods.
- develop the soft and hard skills of the youth workers, enlarge their toolkits and theoretical/practical knowledge about working with groups using non-formal methods
- develop the key competences, raise the awareness of the young persons about environmental sustainability and contribute to their inclusion
During the second year we implemented the following Mobilities in order to contribute to the set objectives:

- Green Footprint: 2023.03.19-30.
- Trick and Tips in youth work- Experience Sharing Conference: 2023.06.18-22.

Youth Exchange period:19-30.04.2023
Location: Sovata -Outward Bound Romania Youth Center, Gurghiului Mountains and Bezid Lake
Participants: 22 young people with different backgrounds and 6 group leaders

Our main goal: was to practice recycling techniques and leave no trace principles in order to contribute to a positive change in the everyday life of the participants regarding environmental awareness and a sustainable lifestyle
Specific objectives of the project are:
- to share practical knowledge about how to recycle, how to reuse already existing things and not to buy new ones
- to raise the awareness of the youngsters about the natural surroundings
- to develop skills and competencies on how to live in nature in an eco-friendly mode
- to develop social and personal skills and the team spirit of the youngsters
The elements of the program: icebreakers, energizers, knowing each other and team building activities, water activities, ropes course, hiking expedition, eco workshops, observation of the nature, Mureş river cleaning, recycling
Results of the project:
- more aware young people of their natural surroundings
- practical knowledge about how to recycle or reuse some parts of their waste (clothes, curtains, jars, plastic bottles or cans)
- they learned how to paint t-shirts with natural colors (onion, spinach, beetroot) and designed-painted a project t-shirt
- they learned how to sew by hand and created reusable shopping bags
- developing their orientation skills in nature, outdoor cooking skills
- developed social skills: communication, decision making in groups, leadership
- developed personal skills: self-confidence, openness, positiveness and active participation
