Green Changemakers
Outward Round Romania owns the Erasmus+ Accreditation in the field of Youth since 2020. We created an action plan for the period 2021-2027 for the following target groups: disadvantaged and mainstream young persons, youth workers and youth NGOs.
During the 7 years we are going to:
- create a strong local and international network of youth NGOs in order to share best practices and working methods.
- develop the soft and hard skills of the youth workers, enlarge their toolkits and theoretical/practical knowledge about working with groups using non-formal methods
- develop the key competences, raise the awareness of the young persons about environmental sustainability and contribute to their inclusion
During the third year we implemented the following Mobilities in order to contribute to the set objectives:

About the project:
This is a 10-day long youth exchange program for young people, where they can learn how to be more in harmony with nature and deepen their knowledge about environmental awareness.
Our main goal:
To develop the young participants to be role models and to influence positively their peers to act more green and sustainable in their life (creation of vlog, leaflet, video, handbook, etc.)
Specific objectives of the project are:
- Learn about sustainability
- Gain practical skills in order to live a more sustainable life
- Teambuilding
- Personal development so participants can become more confident, have knowledge, skills, experiences to share with their communities back home and become Green Changemakers
- Go on a two-nights expedition
- Build connection to nature and become more compassionate towards it
The elements of the program:
Team building, ropes course, learning through experience, expedition, sharing and exchanges practices, workshops and environmental awareness and recycling, action plans to promote green lifestyle for other young persons
Results of the projects:
There have been many kinds of programs about environmental awareness. Alongside theoretical workshops about recycling and sustainable lifestyle they also did practical things like soap and lanterns, bird feeders, cooked apple jam and blackthorn, planted trees and collected cigarette butts. All this was spiced up with some climbing activities in ropes course, teambuilding activities and an intercultural evening. Participants spent a lot of time outdoors during the 3-day expedition, an overnight hike, walks through the city and picking fruit from the nearby hill (blackthorn, rosehip, hawthorn). They created action plans to promote a green lifestyle for other young people.
Feedback of the participants:
“I feel very excited for the activities I’m doing here and I’m having a lot of fun”
“It was a great experience, I really like these camps. They give a lot and they are challenging”
“I had a great time, I love hiking and I love nature.”
“I like challenges, there were many challenges because we slept out in the wild for two nights and had to find the right paths with only a map and a compass.”
