Employability

Outward Round Romania owns the Erasmus+ Accreditation in the field of Youth since 2020. We created an action plan for the period 2021-2027 for the following target groups: disadvantaged and mainstream young persons, youth workers and youth NGOs.

During the 7 years we are going to:

  • create a strong local and international network of youth NGOs in order to share best practices and working methods.
  • develop the soft and hard skills of the youth workers, enlarge their toolkits and theoretical/practical knowledge about working with groups using non-formal methods
  • develop the key competences, raise the awareness of the young persons about environmental sustainability and contribute to their inclusion

During the fourth year we implemented the following Mobilities in order to contribute to the set objectives:

  1. WOOP it up!: 19-30.08.2024.
  2. Inner and Outer Journey: 02-13.09.2024.

  5. Positive Psychology: 6-11.12.2024.

About the project:

In this program, youngsters had the opportunity to try out themselves for a job interview, get practical information, get career counseling,g and develop their communication and entrepreneurial skills.  These components are enriched by outdoor activities – specific to our organization – which encourage participants to push their boundaries and overcome their fears while recognizing both their strengths and areas for improvement.

Our main goal: is to develop the personal and professional skills of the participants, helping them overcome their barriers and fears, which will make it easier for them to find a job in the future.

Specific objectives of the project were:

  • To develop their personal skills like self-confidence, resilience, decision-making ability, perseverance, self-management, responsibility, setting and achieving goals
  • To develop their professional skills: communication with the company sector, body language, problem-solving, taking the initiative, entrepreneurial skills
  • To recognize their strengths, to face their own boundaries, motivate them to leave their comfort zone
  • To build new connections

The elements of the program:

Get to know each other activities, team building activities, ropes course, hiking, self-organizing expedition with sleeping and cooking outdoors, goal setting, writing CV and motivation letter, interview simulation, nature-based activities, debriefing, expressing gratitude and celebrating success, closing activities

Results of the projects:

The program fostered self-awareness, built resilience and taught them how to face challenges, helped participants overcome their own limits and confront their fears. By getting practical information and career counseling they are more capable of taking initiatives, setting goals for themselves and of achieving them.

Feedback from the participants:

“I thought that in this training we’ll discuss and they’ll teach us something about employability skills, but it was so much more! We had to find out our ways to achieve anything. At first, it was too much, but now I can see the whole picture and understand the point.”

“This was my first Erasmus+ project, but I really enjoyed this experience. I have high expectations for my next Erasmus+ program.”

“I think this training was very good, I enjoyed the programs, and the trainers did a great job too.”

”I thought it wouldn’t be much, but it was the complete opposite. I learned so much about myself and became a different man”
