Woop it up!
Outward Round Romania owns the Erasmus+ Accreditation in the field of Youth since 2020. We created an action plan for the period 2021-2027 for the following target groups: disadvantaged and mainstream young persons, youth workers, and youth NGOs.
During the 7 years, we are going to:
- create a strong local and international network of youth NGOs in order to share best practices and working methods.
- develop the soft and hard skills of the youth workers, enlarge their toolkits and theoretical/practical knowledge about working with groups using non-formal methods
- develop the key competencies, raise the awareness of the young persons about environmental sustainability, and contribute to their inclusion
During the fourth year we implemented the following Mobilities in order to contribute to the set objectives:

About the project:
The program offers young people the chance to step out of their comfort zones through outdoor activities, allowing them to discover that they are capable of more than they might think. By applying the scientifically based WOOP method, participants develop their intrinsic motivation and personal skills and discover new tools to overcome challenges.
Our main goal:
The goal of the project is to develop the internal motivation and personal competencies of young people (such as resilience, decision-making ability, responsibility, initiative, and leadership).
Specific objectives of the project were:
- Recognizing their own boundaries and existing skills, motivate them to leave their comfort zone
- Personal development: to build confidence and resilience, decision-making ability, responsibility, and leadership skills
- Using WOOP method to find and fulfill their wishes, set preferences, and change their habits
- Learn to do things differently with a positive attitude
- Teambuilding
- Go on a three-night expedition
- Building new connections
The elements of the program:
Get to know each other activities, teambuilding, three-night expedition, leader of the day, sleeping and cooking outdoors, learning through experience, climbing activities, goal setting, intercultural evening, nature-based activities, debriefing, closing activities
Results of the projects:
By trying out different things the youngsters could really develop self-confidence and realize they can overcome their own limits in a safe environment. Through the challenges, they’ve got courage to do more and become responsible for themselves, their community, and their environment. They are capable of setting goals for themselves and of achieving them, of taking action, of finding purpose and direction in their life. By learning a lot of hard skills they are more aware of their own abilities and strengths and more capable of producing their own growth.
Feedback of the participants:
“I have learned a lot about managing my emotions and planning ahead during this project.”
“Thanks for the opportunity, it was amazing”
