Outward Round Romania owns the Erasmus+ Accreditation in the field of Youth since 2020. We created an action plan for the period 2021-2027 for the following target groups: disadvantaged and mainstream young persons, youth workers and youth NGOs.
During the 7 years we are going to:
- create a strong local and international network of youth NGOs in order to share best practices and working methods.
- develop the soft and hard skills of the youth workers, enlarge their toolkits and theoretical/practical knowledge about working with groups using non-formal methods
- develop the key competences, raise the awareness of the young persons about environmental sustainability and contribute to their inclusion
During the third year we implemented the following Mobilities in order to contribute to the set objectives:

About the project:
The youngsters discovered new tools to overcome challenges more easily, recieving new inspiration and new motivation.
The knowledge and variety of solutions acquired through intercultural activities and learning through experience can be applied to future situations helping to do things differently with a fresh perspective and a positive attitude. This combination of new tools, inspiration and recognition of existing skills contributes to personal growth and builds confidence in their abilities.
Our main goal:
To teach the youngsters to overcome challenges with positive attitudes and using the solution focus method. Develop resilience, give a boost for the upcoming year.
Specific objectives of the project were:
- Recognizing their own boundaries and existing skills
- Personal development: to build confidence and resilience, motivate them to leave their comfort zone
- Learn to do things different with a positive attitude
- Teambuilding
- Go on a two-nights expedition
- Building new connections
The elements of the program:
Challenging activities (ropes course, hiking), teambuilding, three day overnight expedition (sleeping in a mountain hut), learning through experience, intercultural night, problem-solving activities, reflection processes.
Results of the projects:
Participants gained an overview of different problem-solving approaches and solution-focused methods that can inspire and motivate them to think creatively. They were able to experience their own limits and experiment with their comfort level while receiving guidance on how to overcome their fears. They’ve got knowledge and a variety of solution-focused methods that they can adapt in their own context back home. By learning through experience they recognize their existing skills and they will be able to do things differently in the future with a positive attitude.
Feedback from the participants:
“This was undoubtedly one of the most remarkable experiences of my life. Not only did I acquire new knowledge and skills, but I also learned a lot about myself.”
“Reset program immersed us into beautiful group dynamic work, with each activity bringing meaningful tools to not only connect with each other, but ourselves and our inner possibilities.
Facilitators were perfect role-models for a healthy approach to diverse people, allowing each of us to experiment with the limitations and comfort levels while presenting options on how we can overcome some of the fears”
“The year has just begun, but I already know that this project will be in the top three things I did in 2024. It really symbolized a reborning point in my life. I had never had so much connection to nature and people at the same time. The trainers, the expedition, and the rope activities definitely taught me how to be braver, bold, and confident while combining it with a strong level of cooperation and care for others. I feel that we all jumped, literally, into the unknown and that was the best thing we could have ever done. Thank you so much for the opportunity, Outward Bound Romania, I leave this project filled with experiences and skills that completely changed my perception of life and society.”
